Schedule for the 2006 ISA Speedsurfing Grand Prix Tour and World Championships released

Falkensee, Germany – The International Speedsurfing Association (ISA) has just released the schedule for the 2006 tour. The winners of this tour are the official ISAF (International Sailing Federation) World Champions in the disclipline of speed windsurfing.

Sailors all around the world are now preparing for the 2006 events to fight for better rankings and higher speeds. More than 300 competitors from 27 nations and 5 continents took part in the 2005 tour, an we expect some more for this year.

21 World and National Records have been set last year, making this tour to one of the most successful events in sailing history. As the limits are set to a very high level, the action will be all the more spectacular this year.

BACKGROUND
Speed Windsurfing is the one of the fastest growing disciplines in fun- and extremesports. Speed Windsurfing is also a respected discipline in the sailing world. This mixes up to a fascinating combination of lifestyle and serious sporting action.

Also known as the „Formula One“ of windpowered watercrafts, this Speed Windsurfing Grand Prix Tour combines the fastest windsurfers of the world and exotic venues to show the full verve of this fascinating and action packed discipline.

The most popular 13-time world champion Bjorn Dunkerbeck lines up against the current world record holder Finian Maynard to battle out who is the fastest man on the water. Many national champions and record holders will try to overturn the champions.

The ISA is the official division for Speed Windsurfing wiithin the International Sailing Federation.
