XIII BARCELONA OLYMPIC SAILING WEEK
TROFEU INTERNACIONAL CIUTAT DE BARCELONA
The PHARO REGATTA (13th Barcelona Olympic
Sailing Week – Trofeu Internacional
Ciutat de Barcelona) will be held from 23 March to 28
March 2007, on waters of Barcelona, organised by the FEDERACIÓ CATALANA DE
VELA, with the collaboration of the REAL FEDERACIÓN ESPAŃOLA DE VELA.
1. RULES
1.1 The event will be governed by the rules as defined
in the 2006-2008 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
1.2 RRS rule 44.2 is amended for the Tornado and 49er classes, so that the two
turns are replaced by one turn.
1.3 The prescriptions of the Real Federación Espanyola de Vela will not apply.
2. ADVERTISING
2.1 Competitors may display individual advertising classified as Category C for
all the classes, in accordance with ISAF regulation 20.
2.2 Competitors may be required to display advertising under ISAF regulations
20.3 (d)(i) and 20.3
(d)(ii).
2.3 Neil Pryde RS:X competitors may be required to
wear a competitor’s bib
3. CLASSES TO COMPETE
The 13th Barcelona Olympic Sailing Week is reserved to the following Classes:
OLYMPIC CLASSES
MEN: NEIL PRYDE RS:X, 470, LASER STANDARD
WOMEN: NEIL PRYDE RS:X, LASER RADIAL, 470, YNGLING
OPEN: 49er, TORNADO, STAR, FINN
INVITED CLASS
EUROPE Open
4. ELIGIBILITY
All competitors are to comply with the eligibility
requirements established in ISAF Regulation 19.
5. ENTRIES
5.1 Entries can be made online or sent to the address below before 12 March

5.2 The entry forms must be sent with the corresponding entry fee. Only BANK
TRANSFER, EUROCHECKS, TRAVELLERS CHECKS or CASH will be accepted.

5.3 The entry fees are:

Neil Pryde RS:X, Laser, Laser Radial, Finn, Mistral 80€

INVITED CLASS
Europe 80€
5.4 There must be a minimum of 10 entries in each class. The Organising
Committee has the right to establish a maximum number of entries.
6. REGISTRATION OF COMPETITORS
6.1 Each competitor shall personally register and sign the registration form at
the Race Office before 7 pm on 23 March 2007
6.2 Registration is conditioned to the presentation before that time of the
following documents:
6.2.1 A valid Measurement Certificate of the boat (except for Neil Pryde RS:X,
Laser, Laser Radial and 49er)
6.2.2 A valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 300.500
Euros.
6.2.3 For Spanish competitors only, the RFEV 2007 license.
7. SCHEDULE
Races are scheduled as follows:

8. RACING FORMAT
Courses will, as far as possible, be of the same configuration as those
proposed for the 2008 Olympic Regatta. Races will be planned to be of similar
duration.
Olympic classes: The top 10 boats classified in each Olympic class will sail
the final “Medal race” on 28 March
9. SCORING
The RRS Appendix A and the “Low Point Scoring System”
described in RRS A4.1 shall apply with the amendments described in the Sailing
Instructions.
10. MEASUREMENT
Measurement checks can be made.
11. SAIL NUMBERS
LASER boats will comply with RRS Appendix G1.1- IDENTIFICATION
12. INTERNATIONAL JURY
An international jury will be appointed in accordance with RRS Appendix N. Its
decisions will be final as provided in rule 70.4.
13. DISCLAIMER
All those taking part in the event do so at their own risk and responsibility.
The Organising Committee or any part involved with the organisation of the
event disclaim any and every responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury
or inconveniences that might occur to persons and goods, both ashore and at sea
as a consequence of participation in the races covered by these by this Notice
of Race.
Attention is drawn to the RRS Fundamental Rule 4 – Decision to Race, which
states:
“The responsibility for a boat’s decision to participate in a race or to
continue racing is hers alone”
14. PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to the top three competitors in each event.
The ABSOLUTE WINNER PRIZE is reserved to the Olympic classes. The absolute
winner will be awarded a cheque of 1,500 Euros
15. SOCIAL EVENTS
The information on social events will be posted on the
Official Notice Board.

18. TRAINING
Teams wishing to come to Barcelona for training before the regatta must request
